This personal story about one man’s journey with sexual identity issues is a compelling appeal to both right & left wing activists for reconciliation.
Many religious leaders and theologians have written about sexual orientation issues but few have actually written about the issue from an experiential viewpoint. In A Child by Mercy © Brother Timothy tells his story, an honest account of a child growing up with emotional trauma and sexual molestation.
This book is a heartfelt and compelling presentation of one person’s journey through sexual orientation issues while being raised in the Evangelical Church. Timothy continues the account of his prodigal son days as a college dropout into sexual addiction. However, Tim discovers the message of hope and restoration as he begins the long process of recovery and healing.
The Book is in four parts. Part I is the biography of Timothy’s life and struggles with the issue of sexual identity and addiction, and my road to the edge of perdition and back.
Part II is a look at the mechanisms, psychology, and spiritual aspects of sexual identity from Brother Timothy’s viewpoint, those in the field, and the evangelical church. It also covers the spiritual aspects I followed for recovery and restoration to find emotional healing.
Part III is an expose of Bible and Sexual Orientation: “Leviticus, misused by evangelicals and gay activists. Romans, the pastoral letter, and God’s Word: The Authority of Scripture.”
Part IV is a spiritual guide into living as reconciled people. It is meant to reveal the thoughts compiled on Brother Timothy’s journey and from His daily reflections. Once one finds a proper sense of personal identity, it poses the means by which a person can then continue on in the footsteps of Christ.
The Father loves us all and He invites us into His home just as we are, because life’s road has affected us just as it is. We, His children, are to imitate that attitude toward each other. Scripture admonishes this.
A Child by Mercy© presents foundational principles with which to come away with God from any addiction or strong hold. It is when every seeker comes to the place when his or her heart becomes completely exposed to the heart of the Father, and when the Father shows them His heart; and in this grand exposition of grace ignites an eternal hope never again to be extinguished. This is the magical place the Father desires to bring us all. No human can prevent this Love, nor take away this gift of certainty, should one genuinely ask the Father.
People with same sex orientation exist and that is a reality. The most humbling reality of all is that we humans do not know it all. God continues to reveal to us facts about our own nature as science unfolds. This all seems contradictory theologically. It is not, esoterically. In fact, humans have changed written theology over the centuries as societies developed. The body of Christ must become honest with herself, and humble herself before God; becoming full of love and humility toward all of God’s creation, while seeking the will of God. God’s people should have an overwhelming love for God the Father and those the Father loves.
